Environmentally Conscious
Bleedingrock is committed to doing our part to help support renewable energy programs and minimize the impact that our business has on the environment
Why we do this
Besides the obvious environmental benefits, we do this because it makes good economic sense. We consume less and thus retain more earnings. The way it's supposed to be.In order to pursue our commitment, we seek out relationships with suppliers who also share the commitment to using progressive, intelligent, environmentally responsible business practices. We are happy to offer our clients green hosting from 1&1.
We use “green” hosting
Our Web hosting provider 1&1 has partnered with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) to offset 100% of the energy usage of their data center in Lenexa, Kansas by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). The majority of the RECs will be sourced from the Bowersock Mills and Power
Company's hydroelectric facility in Lawrence, Kansas. This hydroelectric
facility is certified low impact by the Low Impact Hydro Institute (LIHI).
1&1’s renewable energy purchase for the facility is enough clean energy to power at least 300 U.S. homes for one year. 1&1 and BEF work in tandem with Green-e, the nation's leading voluntary certification program for renewable energy, to power their data center with clean, renewable energy. Green-e certifies renewable energy that meets environmental and consumer protection standards that it developed in conjunction with leading environmental, energy and policy organizations.
Alternative energy
Wind turbine generators are much less harmful to the environment than burning fossil fuels. The local wind farm on the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass contains more than 4000 separate windmills and provides enough electricity to power Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley.Go paperless!
Print to a PDF instead of a printer...Anything you can print from your computer, you can also convert to a PDF Document easily with
CutePDF Converter Suite™. CutePDF and the required converter is free and installs on your computer
as a printer. The next time you print, select CutePDF instead of your local printer, then simply print (save) a
PDF, which can later be emailed, printed to paper, or sent to a phone.
Great for long term digital records of online transactions or creating online Web documents, but at much less the cost to the environment than 20th century paper printing. An excellent tool for environmentally friendly, paperless operations, and it's easier to email.
